JHP’s Board of Directors consists of highly accomplished individuals from the photographic industry and related fields.
Matt Sweetwood, President
Matt is currently the U.S. CEO and President of beBee, Inc. He is well known for his innovative and transformative ideas in marketing, social media, and business development. He was President of Unique Photo, NJ’s premiere camera store, for over 28 years. Matt has been credited with the reinvention of the modern camera store, as well as the country’s largest in-store photography education program. However, by far, his greatest achievement is having raised five successful children to adulthood as a single dad. He is the creator of the Man-Up Project, helping other men though fatherhood and life. He is a regular contributor on national TV and to several publications in the social media, photography, business, ethics, politics and parenting arenas.
Miriam Leuchter, Vice President
Miriam is the former editor of Popular Photography, the world’s largest photography magazine.
In addition to spearheading the editorial of the magazine, Miriam was responsible for the expansion of Popular Photography into digital editions, mobile apps, books, DVDs, and other media.
Richard Rabinowitz, Secretary
Richard is the President and Founder of Digital Photo Academy that employs 60 photographers who teach 2,500 photo classes in 25 cites, for more information visit: www.DigitalPhotoAcademy.com. He is a veteran of the photo industry. Richard served as VP, Group Publisher of Hachette’s Popular Photography and American Photo creating a legacy of strong photo travel adventures and marketing partnerships and alliances. Randy Bourne, Treasurer
Randy is the Chief Operating Officer of GiveBack.org. The Give Back Foundation (EIN 26-2449481) was established to allow any person to join GiveBack and set up their personal foundation account. The funds that accumulate in that account are part of the Give Back Foundation. Each member has the ability to direct the funds from their account to any charity in good standing with the United States Internal Revenue Service. Prior to joining GiveBack.org, Bourne was the SVP, Business Development of Interlude Home Inc and SR VP at Williams Sonoma.
Randy is well known in the photography community as the Founder and President of the Exposure Catalog which he developed and ran for 16 years.
Craig M. Nisnewitz, Director
Craig M. Nisnewitz, Esq. is of Counsel to Goldberg & Connolly and brings over 30 years of experience to the firm.
Mr. Nisnewitz has represented general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, architects, engineers, various public owners, suppliers and vendors of construction materials and systems in disputes involving public and private construction projects.
Mr. Nisnewitz had been a partner of Feinstein & Nisnewitz, P.C. from 1998 through 2011 and then went on to be a partner at Spizz Cohen & Serchuck, P.C. until 2015. Mr. Nisnewitz specializes in construction law, government practice and procurement, commercial litigation, arbitration, mediation, prosecution and defense of surety and bond claims, administrative law, and prevailing wage claims under Federal and New York State Labor Laws.
Jackie Augustine, Director & Immediate Past President
Jackie is the President of Jackie Augustine Consulting, a company focused on integrated media and marketing solutions. Jackie has been a strong supporter of JHP/RTP for over 25 years and a member of the RTP Advisory Committee. Jackie is a 30 year veteran of the photographic industry.
Augustine served as Group Publisher of VNU/Nielsen’s Performance Group of Magazines. Prior to that she was VP, Group Publisher of the High Technology Group of magazines at Primedia which included Petersen’s PHOTOgraphic and Shutterbug magazines.
She is also a Member of the The Imaging Alliance Board of Directors and Editor of the The Imaging Alliance website: www.theimagingalliance.com.
Mark Hempel, Director
Mark is Canon’s Senior Director of Sales for the Imaging Technologies & Communications Group. His responsibilities include sales to Canon dealers across the US. He has had a lifetime interest in photography & imaging. He has been employed by Canon for 27 years and has been working in the Photo Industry for 33 years. Mark Resides in Marblehead, Ma. and works from Canon’s new US headquarters in Melville, NY.
Ron Sharpe, Director and Past President
Ron has worked with JHP for over 25 years. He has researched and written a monograph on the history of the organization entitled: “A Photography of Healing: The Origins of the Josephine Herrick Project”.
