Join us on Friday, June 14th from 1-2pm for the opening reception for Seeing El Barrio - a photography exhibition featuring the work of older adults from the Jefferson Houses Neighborhood Senior Center. The event will take place at the senior center (2205 1st Avenue, Manhattan).

For the past 8 weeks, these active seniors learned about photography and digital storytelling while engaging in healthy walking around their Harlem neighborhood. They used their new camera skills to document el barrio, capturing their favorite places, historic landmarks, changing seasons, interesting people, and everyday sights, and allowing us to see this dynamic and beautiful neighborhood through the eyes of people who have lived there for decades.
