Our opening reception for Seeing Our El Barrio at the Jefferson Houses Neighborhood Senior Center was such a success that we are taking it on the road! Join us on Monday, July 8th from 1-2:30pm when we bring this fantastic exhibition to the New York Public Library - Aguilar Branch (174 East 110th Street).

About the Exhibit

Seeing Our El Barrio is a photography exhibition featuring the work of older adults from the Jefferson Houses Neighborhood Senior Center. For the past 8 weeks, these active seniors learned about photography and digital storytelling while engaging in healthy walking around their Harlem neighborhood. They used their new camera skills to document el barrio, capturing their favorite places, historic landmarks, changing seasons, interesting people, and everyday sights, and allowing us to see this dynamic and beautiful neighborhood through the eyes of people who have lived there for decades.
